Literature and Medicine
Monthly meetings in which students will come together to discuss various works of fiction in a “book club” format
The texts are, by design, non medical
For several years, these meetings have been held under the title “Medical Humanities Journal Club.” These sessions, comprised of faculty, residents and medical students, center around carefully chosen articles confronting various intersections of literature and medicine.
Past articles discussed include works by Atul Gawande, Oliver Sacks, William Carlos Williams, and others.
