Literature and Medicine

 

  • Monthly meetings in which students will come together to discuss various works of fiction in a “book club” format

  • The texts are, by design, non medical

 

 

Narratives Seminars

 

  • For several years, these meetings have been held under the title “Medical Humanities Journal Club.” These sessions, comprised of faculty, residents and medical students, center around carefully chosen articles confronting various intersections of literature and medicine.

  • Past articles discussed include works by Atul Gawande, Oliver Sacks, William Carlos Williams, and others.
